CARING FOR SOUL
As a Jungian Therapist, in my work with clients, I take to heart the meaning of the word psychotherapy; psyche, in Greek means soul, and the root word of therapy is therapaia, which means to tend or to care for. My work with clients is so often about helping to tend to the needs, the questions, the many facets of soul, of psyche. Caring for and developing an in-depth relationship with soul, your psyche, your Self, and with other souls in your life is at the heart of Jungian therapy.
So as your unique story unfolds, I'll listen with you, offering down-to-earth guidance and real-world support for you along your way. With practical observations & intuitive insights, I'll help you--at your own pace--transform what's most difficult so that you are free to live the way you want to.

I have expertise in helping adults who are:

~ In a midlife transitional time or crisis and feeling stuck, depressed or disoriented;
~ In midlife and want to cultivate your authentic Self, your individuality, and would like some help and support;

Wondering if your difficulties are related to emotional, sexual, physical abuse that's not resolved;
~ Struggling with heart-wrenching relationships with parents or siblings;
~ Searching to discover work that feeds your soul;
~ In midlife and seeking support for your spiritual growth and the rediscovery of your life's direction and purpose--what's referred to as Individuation or Self-actualization.

~ Cultivate the power to experience your life differently;
~ Create a deeper relationship with your authentic Self--and know the freedom and empowerment that go along with it.

Marilyn is a licensed clinical social worker with forty years of experience in areas related to loss and psychological trauma. Treatment may address loss or grief reaction to life transitions, such as the loss of a child, the divorce or death of a partner,spiritual crisis, or life-threatening illness, as well as the experience of single-incident trauma. In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Marilyn has practiced Reiki since 1998.

Marilyn facilitates two support groups for individuals Living with Metastatic Cancer. The support group in Natick, MA is for individuals with any diagnosis of advanced cancer and the group in Harvard, MA is located within a healing center community for women living with breast cancer.
